Kaitlyn Liao

Executive Vice President

Kaitlyn Liao is smiling, has blond hair and a cream-colored jacket

Kaitlyn Liao started her life in California as an East Coast transplant as a founder for a pre-’99 bubble tech startup in SOMA SF, then post-bubble Marketer for AMD in Silicon Valley. She and her husband were married at Gamble Garden and became first-time parents at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital before spending 13 years as expats in Jakarta and Tokyo, where their two younger children of three were born. While overseas, she has served on ASIJ and JIS PTA Executive Boards and the ASIJ Board of Trustees. In recognizing a need for STEAM education, she founded an after-school and weekend enrichment STEAM program for K-8 students in Tokyo. In 2018, Kaitlyn and her family returned to Palo Alto, where she became an active Board Member for Walter Hays and Greene PTA Executive Boards, a mentoring coach for Science Olympiad and Mathcounts teams at Greene, and a mentor for a First Robotics Competition community team of Paly students in her garage. Her passion for education advocacy comes from her time spent at MIT, where she graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering.

In her free time, you’ll find Kaitlyn dancing with her silent disco crew at Mitchell Park, hiking the hills with her dog, biking with her husband to Los Altos lunch destinations, skiing while her husband and three children snowboard, and helping people and families find their community in the Bay Area as a Realtor for Compass.
