Melanie Curtiss

Melanie Gabriel Curtiss, a native of Palo Alto, spent her formative years in the Bay Area. In 2010, she and her husband decided to return to her roots and establish their home in Palo Alto to begin a family. They are now proud parents of two sons who attend JLS and El Carmelo. Since 2018, the Curtiss family has been actively involved as supporters of PiE.
Melanie served 4+ years as room parent, has been on the PTA, and currently serves as a parent board member at Peninsula Bridge, a nonprofit focused on college success for motivated first-generation and low-income children.
Melanie holds a BS in Mathematics and Applied Science from UCLA and an MS in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon. Melanie has spent two decades-plus in tech, joined Google in 2011 and has since contributed to the development of Gmail, Cal, Drive, Docs, Meet, and Waymo, even using Google’s self-driving car to take her sons to school. Melanie is also an active angel investor. One of her investments was in Life360, today’s largest family-oriented social network.
Melanie and her family share a love for golf, the SF 49ers and traveling. Whenever possible, they combine these passions, creating unforgettable experiences together.
