Walter Hays Elementary
For the 2024-25 school year, generous donations from parents and community members will allow PiE to provide $142,457 to Walter Hays. These funds will be used to benefit every Hays student by:
- Funding general classroom aide time, so that all classrooms will get multiple hours of aide time weekly, facilitating small group and individual learning. Aides are a crucial part of the individualized instruction that Hays teachers are working to give every child
- Paying for Spectra Art classes, so that all classrooms get regular art lessons and the opportunity to build confidence and creativity through artistic expression
- Fund part of an intervention specialist to ensure all students receive the most effective instruction possible through outreach and co-teaching
- Funding school-based counseling that helps all staff maximize social and emotional learning for all children
- Through a grant to the district, PiE also helps fund the music and dance programs for all elementary schools
