Jeanette Sormark
Director of Marketing, Communications and Impact & Donor Relations
Jeanette Sormark has been part of the Menlo Park, Redwood City, and Palo Alto communities since 1997. She and her family, Jake Loewenheim, their daughter Emily (5), and Jack, their Husky/Lab mix, currently live in Palo Alto, where Emily attends kindergarten at Addison Elementary. As a parent, Jeanette values the strength of the local public school system, the programs offered to students, and the vibrant community of educators, students, and families. Jeanette spent much of her childhood living overseas in Japan, Guatemala, Sweden, Korea, and Taiwan before moving to the United States to attend Menlo College. Her international upbringing shaped her perspective on education, culture, and the importance of diverse experiences in fostering curiosity, empathy, and resilience in children. She feels incredibly fortunate to be part of the Palo Alto community and is inspired by the commitment of parents, educators, and local organizations to supporting students and schools. She is excited about the opportunity to contribute to PiE and help strengthen educational experiences across the district. Professionally, Jeanette works at Skydio in San Mateo, where she supports senior leadership and contributes to operational initiatives across the organization. Her work focuses on bringing people together, improving processes, and helping teams operate effectively in fast paced environments. In her free time, Jeanette enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, working out, traveling, and exploring the outdoors. She finds time near the ocean especially peaceful and values it as an opportunity to reset and recharge
