After having 3 kids attend Nixon and spending a lot of my spare time involved with all the activities at Nixon, I was asked if I was interested in working in the classroom, and she may not even had been serious when she asked. She just caught me on the right day, right time and I wanted to try something different than being in an office everyday. The daily experience is certainly different and challenging in different ways I never thought possible, but at the end of the day, working with the kids has had a much bigger impact on my life than any invoice on my desk. I can’t imagine how much the kids would be missing if you took away all the programs and people that PiE funds. They are all a part of the Nixon experience and it would be a very different place without it. I love reading stories to the students and finding ones they have never heard before. I guess what I love the most is seeing them again years down the road and they still remember the stories I read to them when they were small.
