(January 21, 2014) PALO ALTO, CA – Palo Alto Partners in Education (PiE), the education foundation supporting Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) schools, announced today that it has received a $50,000 gift from Juliana Lee, a leading local realtor. Ms. Lee’s donation will be used in PiE’s final 2013-14 Challenge Grant this month to inspire others to give. “We are so grateful for Ms. Lee’s very generous support for a second year in a row,” said PiE President Terry Godfrey. “This unexpected gift will benefit all children in Palo Alto public schools by funding essential programs such as arts, counseling, aides, and hands-on science. And, making it part of PiE’s Challenge Grant will help inspire others to give.”

“I continue to believe in the importance of public education in Palo Alto and wanted to further my impact by donating to PiE’s Challenge Grant this year,” said Ms. Lee. “I see my role as both a supporter of PAUSD and a leader who can help inspire other businesses and families to get involved in PiE and help all Palo Alto students succeed.”

Ms. Lee’s gift puts her in the Community Benefactor Level, which is designated for business donors who give PiE $25,000 or more. PiE’s Business Partners Program provides signage and other public recognition to thank businesses that support public education in Palo Alto by donating between $500 and $50,000.
